Wydown Counselor Named Lindenwood Adjunct of the Year
Wydown Middle School Counselor Jason Thompson has been named Lindenwood University’s 2019 Adjunct of the Year. Thompson is a longtime adjunct professor with Lindenwood’s School of Education. This award, decided by his colleagues, honors Thompson’s pedagogical innovation, student-centeredness and effectiveness as a classroom teacher during the present and prior academic years.
Thompson has received praise for how his teaching methods effectively prepare counseling students for their future careers. These methods include the use of mock interviews and emerging technology. Thompson also has served on several state-level school counseling writing teams and as a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education-appointed mentor for new school counselors across the state.
Thompson received his award at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 1.
