My name is Señora Amy Dean and I am delighted to be your Spanish teacher at WMS. Prior to joining Clayton, I taught at the Spanish Clubhouse, at Providence St. Mel in Chicago, and at the University of Missouri - Columbia.
I have lived in Mexico and traveled throughout Central America and the Caribbean. Nowadays, I live in Rock Hill with my husband, three daughters, and an elderly cat. In my free time, I enjoy running and knitting. I love spicy food and SO MUCH COFFEE.
My biggest goal for this class is for you to learn to speak Spanish and to communicate authentically. Part of your success in our class depends on your willingness to jump in, make mistakes, and to learn from them. I expect you to support your classmates in this as well. We are a team.
I am proud to share that I am part of our district's Lab Classroom program this year. Our team of teachers willsupport me in trying out some new activities into our curriculum. You might see the "clipboard people" in our classroom this year, and that is why. They are helping me pilot activities that empower YOU, the learner!
