    Welcome Class of 2028!

    Dear Eighth-Graders and Families,

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I am pleased to welcome you to Clayton High School. Very soon you will embark on a four-year journey with us as the Class of 2028, and I am certain that you will have an outstanding experience. We have a gifted faculty, a rigorous curriculum, and we offer numerous sports and activities to engage students outside the classroom. At CHS, you will have the opportunity to take an outstanding array of courses while participating in activities that challenge the body and mind. You will be joining a community of learners with a legacy of excellence that stretches back more than 100 years. At times, the whole experience can seem a bit overwhelming. We have created this guide to help make the transition from middle school to high school a little easier. Please know that we are here to help and do not be afraid to reach out to us. The new school year will be here before you know it, and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

    With Greyhound Pride,

    Dr. Dan Gutchewsky
    Principal

Greetings to our incoming 9th grade students and families! I am excited to welcome the Clayton High School-Class of 2028. I can imagine the mixed emotions you may be experiencing as you begin to think of transitioning to the high school: nervousness, excitement, or general curiosity.  I want you to know your feelings are valid, and our staff will be here to support you every step of the way. Saying goodbye to the 8th grade and moving into high school is a rite of passage that will begin to prepare you for life after high school.  There are many high school activities we encourage you to participate in, such as: homecoming week, robotics, athletics, music, theater, etc.  Experienced educators have vetted our curriculum, so while it may feel challenging at times, the enriched learning is created to prepare you for post-secondary work.  We encourage you to review all the class descriptions and create a schedule that will match your personality. Please find comfort in knowing our staff is ready and eager to work with you.

We look forward to becoming your new educational family.

    Respectfully,

    Dr. Regina Moore
    Assistant Principal

It is my pleasure to welcome the Class of 2028 to Clayton High School. Your first year of high school is an exciting time, but it can also be challenging and the unknown can be scary. The elementary and middle schools have prepared you for this next step, exploring new subjects, getting involved in your school and community and investigating different interests and career pathways. High school is a big transition and there are many changes from middle school. Your freshman year is one of the most important years you’ll experience because it is the foundation for everything to come, so we have activities planned to start in January to help you get ready and excited about coming to CHS.

Just a few things about me. I am currently in my 2nd year at Clayton High School, but my 20th year as a high school counselor. Prior to CHS I was in the Parkway School District for 13 years and Trinity Catholic High School for 4 years.  I also coached at both of these schools.  I played Collegiate Basketball (NAIA Level) for Lindenwood University and also had the opportunity to coach at the Collegiate level, HSSU under Coach Young, in the volleyball program (current Activities Director).

Outside of counseling and coaching, I have 2 daughters, Caidyn (who is a current senior at CHS and very active in sports and clubs) and Kensli (she is turning 3 and loves soccer).
