Welcome to Wydown!

My name is Aaron Griffith (he/him) and I am a sixth grade science teacher at Wydown Middle School!

I came to Wydown after working as a 5th/6th grade science and social studies teacher for the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. I love to guide students as they make exciting discoveries and develop their skills and talents as engaged learners.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Santa Clara University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Kansas State University. I am currently an Effective Outdoor Learning teaching partner with Litzsinger Road Ecology Center. Prior to becoming a teacher, I served with AmeriCorps and worked at an educational non-profit.

I was born and raised in San Jose, California, lived in both the Pacific Northwest and New England, and have now called Missouri home for the past nine years. Outside of teaching, I am actively involved in theatre around St. Louis. I also enjoy the outdoors, traveling, fitness, the performing arts, reading, all things related to food, and spending time with my husband and two cats.
