• Curriculum Review Processimage

Teachers across the District regularly reflect on and evaluate the curriculum they teach and assess. As a result of the curriculum review process, professional learning is provided to support the introduction of new resources that support new implementations. The curriculum review process will determine the professional learning that takes place in each curricular area. Three times each year, elementary teachers attend grade level and content specific professional learning to support curriculum implementation. These three-hour meetings occur during the school day.

Prior to the start of the school year, half of one teacher preparation day is dedicated to curriculum development for all teachers. Professional Development is also provided for teachers when changing course or grade level teaching assignments. Through the process of PLCs, content and/or grade level teams implement the “Plan-Do-Revise” model. PLC groups can document curricular refinements on Build Your Own Curriculum (BYOC) under the guidance of the curriculum coordinator.
