Clayton Summer Academy (CSA) 2024 - For students entering grades 9 through 12. CSA is housed at Clayton High School. Registration for CSA classes will take place concurrently with the CHS registration process for the 2024-2025 school year. CSA will be held June 3 - June 28 from 8:15 am - 11:30 pm.

Credit acquisition and credit recovery opportunities will be conducted in person at CHS. Credit acquisition classes will follow an A/B day schedule with synchronous classes in person at CHS every other day. On the opposite day, students will be provided asynchronous work and will not attend in-person learning.

Credit recovery classes will meet on a daily basis for synchronous work at CHS for 90 minutes.

Students who would prefer to take online classes exclusively will be taught online by CHS teachers. In addition to daily, asynchronous assignments that require the ability to work independently, there will be optional weekly virtual meetings. Teachers will have online office hours and be available to help. Time will depend on the class and class duration should be about one hour. They are online and all instruction is asynchronous.

    Wydown Summer Academy -

The School District of Clayton offers several opportunities for students entering grades 6-8 to continue growing personally and academically. Through our Leadership Academy and Jump Start Math, students and their families have options for summer learning while making connections to other Clayton students.

Wydown Summer Academy (WSA) will run from June 5 - 28 from 8:15 am-11:30 am. Students have two different options from which to choose - Jump Start Math and Leadership Academy. During Jump Start Math students work toward enriching their math skills to prepare for the upcoming school year. Teachers use creative instruction such as games and other strategies to make engaging with math FUN! Leadership Academy uses Project Based Learning where students employ various skills to create a product such as an exhibit or a play to share with the community. This summer, Leadership students will create skits and plays out of well-known stories. Also, as a part of the Leadership Academy, students will use geometry and ingenuity to build a mini-golf course. The goal of WSA is for students to realize greater self-confidence through empathy, intellect, and creativity.

The final day to register for 2024 Wydown Summer Academy is May 3, 2024.  Click Here for the WSA brochure.

    Elementary Summer Academy

Elementary Summer Academy (ESA) is an academic summer program designed to maintain and reinforce reading, writing, and math skills for selected Clayton students entering grades 1-5. ESA class sizes are smaller than the traditional school year, enabling staff to provide more personalized instruction. ESA teachers use a project-based learning approach that allows students to develop multiple academic and social emotional skills in hands-on, creative experiences. Participation in ESA is by teacher recommendation.

2024 Elementary Summer Academy will be held June 5 - June 28 from 8:30 am - Noon.  Registration for Elementary Summer Academy is closed.
