Intergenerational Tutoring Program
"Making a Difference, One Child at a Time"
Help a child learn to read! OASIS tutors enjoy the rewarding experience working with students in kindergarten through fourth grades at Clayton's three elementary schools. The focus of the OASIS program is to build reading skills, self-esteem and a positive attitude toward reading.
- Tutors select the school and time they want to tutor.
- Tutors work with the same student all year.
- They tutor one hour each week.
- Tutors participate in tutor training in September.
- Tutors receive all materials plus continuing support from the School District of Clayton.

Early Childhood Education
Volunteers read to children in Early Childhood Education classes at the Family Center's Gay Ave. campus.
Partnering with Clayton's Gifted Program, volunteers work with groups of gifted students on short-term, specific projects. The projects are directed by Clayton teachers and are centered around the students' interests. The program is at all three of Clayton's elementary schools.
This is a new initiative for volunteers to work one-on-one with elementary school students in the area of mathematics.To learn more about these programs and opportunities,
