Description of School:Knox College, one of the 40 Colleges That Change Lives, is a private, undergraduate, residential liberal arts and sciences institution. Knox is a human-powered community of individuals challenging each other to improve, understand, and explore our world. Founded by abolitionists in 1837, Knox continues its tradition of free inquiry, independent thought, and diverse perspectives today. Students are engaged and share a can-do spirit; life on campus is active, exciting, and shaped by the student body. Knox's strong academic programs are staffed with accomplished scholar-teachers who encourage students to explore ideas and places, stretch their intellect and their talents, blend thought with action, and fuse imagination with initiative. In fact, each Knox student is awarded $2,000 to pursue independent undergraduate research, creative projects, travel abroad, internships, and much more.
