    Description of School:

Occidental College (Oxy) is a nationally recognized, private residential college of the liberal arts and sciences, and one of the few located in a major city.  The immense creativity, diversity, and complexity of Los Angeles allows students and faculty to engage with endless opportunities and become agents of change in the world by bridging classroom learning with lived experiences.  Undergraduate research, interdisciplinary study, community partnerships, and global engagement are hallmarks of the College; students benefit from our small-classroom environment with stimulating faculty who take their teaching as seriously as their research. Our curriculum is centered on an interdisciplinary, intercultural education and is enhanced by a highly engaged and tightly-knit community of students who typically reside for all four years on a beautiful campus nestled in northeast Los Angeles.
