School-sponsored activities have prior claim to the use of school facilities if scheduled with the Office of Communications at least eight days in advance of the event. These activities include PTO meetings, and PTO-sponsored activities such as Scout groups, school dances, dramatic productions, club meetings, athletic events, and various professional or semiprofessional meetings of educational groups. In an emergency situation involving less than eight days' notice from the school, a final decision shall be made by the Facility Request Committee that accommodates both the school's need and is sensitive to the impact on the community group involved.
When scheduling conflicts occur and/or when there are conflicting requests for the same location at the same time, the Facility Services Department will attempt to provide alternative facilities and arrangements as appropriate and available. The Facility Request Committee will make a binding decision in such instances.
