Glenridge First Grade Teacher Earns Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award
The School District of Clayton is pleased to announce Glenridge Elementary First Grade Teacher Robyn Polizzi has been selected as the District's recipient of the 2020 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. A committee comprised of past Emerson Award winners selects the award recipient from the pool of nominees.
For the past 24 years in Clayton, Polizzi has gone above and beyond to build strong relationships with her students and their families. Her passion and love for learning shines bright in her teaching as she aims to guide each and every student to achieve academic success.
Her classroom environment is one of care, dedication, support and safety. Every student she has embraced over the years leaves her classroom feeling academically challenged and socially/emotionally supported at the same time.
Polizzi's commitment to her students is clear in her tireless work to prepare and educate her first graders. With Glenridge being a place that encourages discovery, belonging and goal setting for every child, Polizzi is dedicated to instilling these characteristics in her learners.
She began teaching for the School District of Clayton in August 1989 and since that time has taught Kindergarten at Captain as well as first grade at Glenridge.
In the 17-18 school year, Polizzi became a National Board Certified Teacher (Generalist/Early Childhood) for the School District of Clayton.
For the 20-21 school year, Polizzi is a Learning@Home first grade teacher for Captain, Glenridge and Meramec students.
