Glenridge Students Learn Valuable Life Skills from CHS Swim Team

The third-graders at Glenridge Elementary learned from a very talented group of swim instructors when they took part in the annual swim safety and instruction field trip to The Center of Clayton in early April. Members of the Clayton High School Swim Team volunteered their time to share their swimming skills with the third-graders.

During each class’ trip to The Center’s pools, a different group of Swim Team members taught the third-graders basic pool/water safety skills, assisted them in floating and breathing exercises and demonstrated the basic swim strokes.

This annual third-grade field trip is an important one for the Glenridge students because it teaches them valuable life skills. And by having the CHS Swim Team members as their instructors, the Glenridge students can see how strong swimming skills can be beneficial not only for a fun day at the pool, but also as a competitive sport in high school.
