Students Watch Artists in Action

Glenridge Elementary welcomed 10 local artists, including several Glenridge parents, to the building on Tuesday, Nov. 27, for the school’s Artists in Action event. During their P.E. time, every class in the school visited the gym to take a gallery walk and watch the artists at work. The students observed and asked questions of the artists, who represented a variety of mediums including printmaking, architecture, jewelry design, painting and ceramics, among others.

"I like how the artists are making their own art and think in their heads about what they like to make," said first-grader Sofia Holy.

At several stations, the students even created their own art alongside the visiting artist.
