"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots."
Marcus Garvey
After over twenty years in education, my passion lies in empowering students to think independently and critically about the world around them and there is no better way to understand the present than by learning about the past. In the past twenty plus years, I have taught a variety of courses, including AP European History, as well as US History, World History, Government, Contemporary Issues, Politics and Conflict in the Modern World, and facilitated a cadet teaching program. I am currently working on my doctorate in liberal arts at Washington University. I look forward to serving the students and families of Clayton High School. My vision is that students leave my class with a greater sense of the power of the individual as well as greater confidence in their ability to lead and affect positive change in their homes, communities, and the world around them.
