    “Short” List


    Change of Dismissal Plans:  If your child will be going home in a different way, please send a note or call the office.  Emails may not always be checked in the middle of the day due to meetings during planning times.   This is for your child’s safety.  If something bubbles up during the day regarding your child’s dismissal, please call the front office at 314-854-6300 so that I can be made aware of the change.

    Backpack and Folder:  Your child’s backpack and folder are the closest things we have to a mailbox.  Please check and clean out your child’s folder and backpack on a nightly basis.   If you have notes, completed forms, or other information for us at school, please place it in the folder and mention to your child that there is mail to be delivered to the teacher.

    Lunch:  Your child is learning to sign-in as a “Lunch #1”, “Lunch #2”, "Lunch #3", or “Bringer” each morning.  The monthly lunch calendar can be found on the Meramec webpage.  If your child is buying, please review the choices before school so your child is ready to make a choice at school.  We have many helpful adults to guide them through their lunch-time routines.  

    Snack:      Please send a healthy nut-free snack daily in your child’s backpack front pocket -separate from the lunchbox. 

    Quiet Time:  We will have a quiet time daily.  Please send a favorite beach towel.    I’ll remind the children to take home their towels for washing every week.

    Footwear: The PE teachers ask that children wear tennis shoes for the daily gym class.

     

    Temperature:   You may want to send an extra sweater or sweatshirt for your child (we can store it in your child’s cubby).  We have outdoor recess twice daily.  Please send your child with the appropriate outerwear when necessary.  Please label outerwear with your child’s name.

    Staying in Touch:  Please e-mail or call whenever you (or your child) have a question or concern or you just want to check in.  I will retrieve e-mails and voicemail in the evening or early the next morning.       patriciacasseau@claytonschools.net (854-6332)
