Dr. Lindsay Schuessler

Hello!

It is my honor to serve as the Literacy Coach at Meramec Elementary School in the School District of Clayton. I value literacy as a tool to empower, foster justice, and create joy. I am proud to make it my life's work to support students, teachers, and families in literacy education.

I came to Clayton in 2018 but I started my teaching career in 2008. I first served as a K-5 special education teacher in St. Louis Public Schools, then went on to teach 3rd-5th grade general education, and then served as a reading and math interventionist at the elementary level. Eventually I left the classroom and served as an Academic Instructional Coach in St. Louis Public Schools and helped lead an unaccredited school to full accreditation.

I hold a bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis,  a master's degree from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, reading specialist certification, and a doctoral degree from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, visiting the beach, exercising, watching sports, eating delicious food, and spending time outside. Ask me what I'm reading the next time you see me!
