Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Lindsay Schuessler

I am so excited to be a part of the Meramec and Clayton Family! I am coming to Clayton in my eleventh year in education with a variety of experiences and skills to contribute to making this district a great place for kids.

I am a proud graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where I was a member of the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship winning volleyball team. At Washington University I double majored in elementary education and psychology and completed my student teaching here in Clayton at Captain Elementary School. After graduation I joined the Teach For America St. Louis corps, added a special education certification, and started my teaching career as a K-5 special education teacher in St. Louis Public Schools. After a few years in special education I taught 3rd-5th grade and served as a reading and math interventionist. During this time I completed a master's of education and added a reading specialist certification at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Most recently I served as an Academic Instructional Coach in St. Louis Public Schools and helped lead an unaccredited school to full accreditation within my first two years. I am currently in the final year of a doctoral degree at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, visiting the beach, exercising, watching sports, eating delicious food, spending time outside, and enjoying all things St. Louis!
