My name is Dee Pliakos.  I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have been fortunate to work alongside many exceptional special education teachers over the past decade. This collaboration has significantly shaped my approach to teaching students with diverse needs. As a mother of two adult children, I have enjoyed sharing my passions for gardening and travel with them, instilling in them a sense of adventure and a desire to help others.

During my children’s early years, we moved to various countries and states, which broadened my understanding of the diverse social and emotional needs of young children. These experiences have enhanced my effectiveness as a teacher, enabling me to create a supportive and nurturing environment for students. I am excited to bring this perspective to the Meramec community.
