My name is Whitney Silva and I am very excited to join the Meramec school community as a Kindergarten teacher. Kindergarten is a special and important time in our youngest learners' lives. I previously taught second grade at Hancock Place Elementary and Kindergarten at Flynn Park in The School District of University City. I earned my Master’s in Teaching and Early Childhood & Elementary Education certification from the University of Missouri St. Louis. I am pursuing my Ed.S Education generalist certification from Northwest Missouri State University. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, constantly learning, attending my children’s sporting events, reading, and being outside, especially in the Summer and Fall. 

I live in Columbia, IL with my 4 children; Natalie 20, Patrick 13, Henry 11, and Charlotte 8 and three doodles Moose, Millie, and Pumpkin. I truly love teaching kindergarten. My goal is to develop relationships with your children and give them a foundation to build on throughout their elementary school years and beyond. I do this by meeting your students where they are socially, emotionally, and academically. In my classroom, your students are cared about.  I value their ideas, thoughts, and actions.
