I joined Glenridge Elementary in 2006. Since then, I have been teaching English Language Learners from Asia, Europe, South America, North and Central America, and Africa! I love teaching our wonderful international students. Their contribution to our school’s diversity is invaluable. This is such a terrific community of educators, parents, and students! I'm passionate about teaching and abslutely love being a life-long learner myself alongside my students. Three years ago, I began to co-teach in second grade, where I not only work with ELs, but also with rest of the class in the areas of writing, social studies, and science alongside the mainstream classroom teachers. This has been such a rewarding experience!
I was born and raised in Argentina, where I taught English as a Foreign Language for seven years before I moved to the U.S.A. in 2001 to teach Spanish in Breese, IL. I was at Mater Dei High School for five years before my arrival in St. Louis, where my journey at Glenridge began. I received a bachelor’s in Elementary and Secondary EFL Teaching (English as a Foreign Language) in Argentina, and a Masters in Educational Administration from Saint Louis University.
Here in St. Louis, I met my husband Mike, who is from Sweden. We have two daughters, Mikaela and Cecilia and a Siberian cat, Luna. When not at school, I prioritize spending time with family and friends, who are like our extended family in the U.S. I am passionate about stargazing, learning about astronomy and geography, going for walks, reading, gardening, swimming, and just relaxing at home with an espresso. Traveling to Europe and South America to visit our families in the summertime is one of my favorites. This summer we will travel to Argentina to see our family and friends in Cordoba after a really long time. We are all so excited and cannot wait about this long-postponed reunion!
