• What does the counselor do?

Approximately 35 percent of the elementary counselor's time is spent in the classrooms teaching lessons and working with students to develop and strengthen their academic and social/emotional skills, as well as explore personal interests, strengths and career possibilities.  The remainder of the time is spent working with children in small groups based on a specific need, collaborating with teachers and parents to support students and facilitating various parent discussion groups throughout the year.

Please feel free to contact me if:
    • You have any concerns about your child's social/emotional development.
    • You have any concerns about your child's academics.
    • There is or has been a major change in your family structure and your child could use some extra support here at school.
    • You would like more information about a particular topic (i.e adoption, parenting, ADHD, etc.)  The counseling office is full of great resources.
Also, please take a few minutes to check out the schedule of parent discussion group topics set for this year.  I hope to see you there!
