My name is Leigh Palmer, and I am your child's third grade teacher! This is my third year in third grade and my tenth year at Captain. My first four years I spent as a fourth grade teacher.
I am originally from New Orleans, LA. I went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I got a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. I then moved back to New Orleans where I taught first and second grade for four years at my alma mater. In 1996, I moved to St. Louis and taught first and second grades at Forsyth School before coming to Captain. In December, 2016, I received a Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Personally, I have a wonderful family, my husband, Jordan, my children, Mallory (20) and Max (18), and our rescue dogs, Lucy and Cody. My daughter is a sophomore at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, and my son is a senior at Gateway STEM High School. In my free time I love to run, read, cook, and watch movies.
I love teaching and am so excited to have your child this year!
