    Overview of Gifted Program Services 

    Elementary School XL (Extended Learning) Gifted Program. This program is designed for students in grades 2-5 who show signs of exceptional creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking in comparison to their chronological peers. The goal of the XL Gifted Program is to provide students with regular opportunities to build their creative confidence and increase their comfort level with risk-taking. XL classes meet for 150 minutes each week with the building's gifted specialist. The curriculum used in the XL Gifted Program focuses on design thinking, creative confidence and social-emotional learning.  

    Middle School Exploratorium Program. This program is designed for students in grades 6-8 who show signs of exceptional creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking in comparison to their chronological peers. The goal of Exploratorium is to provide students with elective opportunities to build their creative confidence and comfort with failure. Exploratorium classes meet daily for 40 minutes and are semester-long courses. The curriculum used in Exploratorium classes focuses on design thinking, creative confidence and social-emotional learning.
