    • identify members of the family.
    • compare their life, family, pets to those of a character in a story.
    • describe some of the responsibilities in their home life

    My Surroundings

    Students will:

    • learn about places in a community and what activities they do there.
    • compare the community of a character from a story with their own in a larger community.

     


    The Larger Community

    Students will:

    • learn about important people, cultural information, and historical events of the Spanish-speaking world.
    • learn the countries, capitals, location, and major landforms of the Spanish-speaking Central American and Caribbean countries and territories.
    • learn the history of the Mexican holiday, Dia de los muertos. Art, food, and ofrendas are topics of conversation and research.
