Mr. Brendan Taylor, Head Coach

I am the proud father of a 7 year old girl, Alice, and soon to be father of a baby boy and have been happily married to Tricia Taylor for 16 years. I have been teaching and coaching for over 20 years.  I am headed into my 5th season leading the Greyhound Boys Soccer Program, and third year in charge of the girls' program.  Prior to coming to Clayton, I coached at Marquette High School at various levels, trained goalies and still teach social studies there.  Prior to my current teaching job, I was a Teach For America Corp member serving in the Mississippi Delta and the city of St. Louis.  I strongly believe that high school athletics is one of the best platforms available for student athletes to challenge themselves, develop important leadership skills and maximize their potential in order to prepare themselves for life's challenges.

Mr. Daniel Dorsey, Assistant Coach

Identified as a “young Pele” by the age of 6, Coach Dorsey was recruited by and
signed with FC Barcelona in 1977, where he trained for the next 8 years ;)
Actually, played CYC soccer at St. Jerome in North County. As a kindergartner, once
substituted himself off the field when the coach wasn’t looking . . . presumably for a
snack.

Coach Dorsey was introduced to the game by his dad, who was his first coach. He
was cut in high school which, while painful at the time, was a great learning
experience. Former Greyhound Head Coach Tom Redmond took a chance on him as
a walk-on at UMSL, where Coach Dorsey was voted the Most Improved Player during
his freshman season. He began coaching JV boys and Freshman girls in 1998 at
Lindbergh, where he coached a variety of levels for both programs for 20 years. He
joined the CHS boys’ program in the fall of 2020 and the CHS girls’ program in the
spring of 2021, each as an assistant. Coach Dorsey has been a mathematics teacher
at CHS since the fall of 2019.

Coach Dorsey is very grateful to all of his teachers and coaches from grade school
through college, as well as the men and women he had the pleasure to coach
alongside at Lindbergh and now at CHS. He is also grateful for the many students who
tried out and joined the high school teams he’s been lucky enough to coach. He is
extremely grateful and blessed to have the love and support of his wife Angie, and their
children.
