• Meals - UPDATED 05/11/2020

During the school closure, we continue to have a relentless commitment to support all our students and hope to bring a steady hand to a time that feels unpredictable for our students and staff. In Student Services, that means staying in tune with our families’ mental and physical well-being and connecting them to resources as their needs evolve.

Starting Monday, March 30, the District will have free grab-and-go meals available for pick up at Captain Elementary School (6345 Northwood Ave, St. Louis, MO 63105) from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Families will receive two days worth of meals (breakfasts and lunches) during each visit.

This meal pick up schedule will continue throughout the month of May. No meals will be served on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day - extra meals will go out on Friday, May 22 during normal pick up times. Friday food pantry bags will also be available.

Families who are unable to visit Captain during the designated times can also access free meals at a variety of St. Louis City Public School sitesdelivery stops provided by the Normandy Schools Collaborative, and other school sites across St. Louis County.

On June 1 meal service will drop down to Fridays only. Families will be able to pick up a week's worth of meals that would have previously been distributed over the original three days of Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    Food Backpack Program
Families currently participating in one of our building-based food backpack programs may pick up a bag of non-perishable food items at Captain every Friday during meal pick up times.

If you continue to have concerns about accessing meals for your family due to unique circumstances, please let us know using this form so we can follow up with you individually. You can also call the Office of Student Services at 314.854.6023.

We all recognize that for many of our families this pandemic crisis is making a difficult home situation even worse. As part of a regional response there has been a coordinated effort to simplify the search for resources for those in need.
