CHS Choir Virtual Spring Performance
Since the beginning of the semester, choir students worked tirelessly rehearsing music and choreography to prepare for their virtual spring performance. The choirs were filmed for their virtual performance over the course of several days to follow COVID-19 regulations and keep students and their families safe.
“Teaching choir this year has certainly kept me on my toes,” said Tai Oney, CHS Vocal Teacher. “There has never been a dull moment for better or worse; however, I do feel that it has strengthened my ability to truly be present and adapt in the moment.”
Students performed solos, in duets, and as a group. Two concert choir members, Santana Bolden and Taj Elliot, even created an original rap for the performance. One of the concert choir favorite parts of the performance was leading an acapella version of "I See Stars" from the musical “Mean Girls”.
“It was wonderful to see them apply the tools and techniques that they have learned throughout the year and conduct their own rehearsal of the piece,” said Oney.
Oney wanted to congratulate the following students for their work on choreography: Gen Hoelscher ("The New World"), Art Franko ("Come Alive" & "From Now On"), Trey Perlut ("Found/Tonight"), and Jaxon Beeler ("From Now On").
The district wants to extend congratulations to the Class of 2021 seniors that performed: Jaxon Beeler, Art Franko, and Gen Hoelscher.
