Missouri General Assembly Considers Charter School Expansion

The Missouri House of Representatives is currently considering HB 634, which would allow charter schools to operate in any school district in the state, including successful, high-performing districts like Clayton. Currently, state law only allows charter schools to operate in unaccredited, provisionally-accredited, financially-stressed  or urban/metropolitan school districts. Charter schools receive around 90% of their funding from the school district in which they are located. Click here to review an FAQ about this bill and charter school expansion.
