District Students Compete in The Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair
Students from Captain Elementary School, Glenridge Elementary School, Meramec Elementary School, and Clayton High School competed in The Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair. This event has been a tradition for over 70 years where the top students and their projects are selected from each district.
After finding out from their schools if they qualified, students prepared their projects and began research a few months in advance to the fair. Students were required to create a powerpoint or PDF and keep a logbook of all their work up until the fair.
The Academy of Science was prepared to support students during the pandemic as they were one of the first science fairs to have a virtual component in years past. Students competed virtually and presented their projects on their own selected topics online. Projects ranged from “What Material Can Block a Wi-fi Signal?” to “Making a Parabolic Microphone”.
