Johnicka Turner Selected as SSD Clayton Partner District Director
Johnicka Turner has been selected as the new SSD Clayton Partner District Director for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Turner has an impressive track record, having dedicated her career to serving Special School District students since 2008. As a certified K-12 teacher, principal, and special education administrator, Johnicka has had the opportunity to serve in many roles. Starting as a partner teacher in the Lindbergh School District, she would later move into a leadership role as a special education coordinator. Most recently, Johnicka has served as the special education coordinator in the Ladue School District, overseeing a team of 45 staff members. Johnicka holds a Master of Arts in Special Education and an Education Specialist degree from Webster University.
In her previous positions, Johnicka has skillfully managed and supported teams, collected and analyzed data to guide her decisions, and fostered collaborative relationships with districts, families, and stakeholders to promote inclusive educational settings.
“Joining the School District of Clayton as director of special education is an honor. I'm thankful for the chance to serve students, families, and staff and contribute to the district's values of excellence, inclusion, trust, accountability, and innovation,” said Turner.
Turner’s start date is July 1.
