Buddy Sodeman Appointed Interim Assistant Principal at CHS

Charles “Buddy” Sodemann has been appointed to serve as interim assistant principal at Clayton High School for the 2022-2023 school year. He replaces Dr. Janelle Danskey, who accepted a position as principal of Arcadia High School in the Scottsdale (AZ) Unified School District.

“We are excited to have Mr. Sodemann join the CHS administrative team,” explained CHS Principal Dr. Dan Gutchewsky. “His energy, and leadership experience as both a teacher and coach will be a tremendous asset to CHS. Buddy’s familiarity with the school and the positive relationships he has already established with students, families and staff will allow him to hit the ground running in his new role.”

Sodemann has spent the past three years serving as a health/PE teacher and the head boys basketball coach at CHS. He taught PE for one year at Glenridge Elementary School before transitioning to the high school. Before coming to Clayton, he taught and coached basketball at Northwest High School as well as coached at the collegiate level. Sodemann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Westminster College, a Master of Science in Sports Management from Illinois State University and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University.

“It has been an honor and privilege working in the School District of Clayton for the past four years,” explained Sodemann. “I am excited to work with our stakeholders in a different capacity this year and look forward to continuing to build relationships and support our students, teachers and families in my interim role as assistant principal."
