Dr. Neil Daniels, II, Selected as Assistant Principal at Wydown
Dr. Neil Daniels, II, has been appointed to serve as assistant principal at Wydown Middle School. He will serve as the grade-level administrator for next year’s eighth graders and replaces Dr. Tarita Rhimes, who was recently selected to be the next principal of Glenridge Elementary School.
“Wydown is thrilled to have Dr. Daniels to join our team,” explained WMS Principal Dr. Jamie Jordan. “It’s clear that he really cares about students and understands the importance of building trust in his relationships. I look forward to working with him as part of Wydown’s journey to be a model of equity and innovation.”
For the last 11 years, Dr. Daniels has served students at Parkway Southwest Middle School where he was named that school’s Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020. In addition to teaching sixth grade communication arts and, most recently, seventh grade world history, Dr. Daniels has held a variety of leadership roles supporting students and colleagues in the Parkway School District. Dr. Daniels received his doctoral degree in educational leadership from Maryville University. He also holds a Master of Education in Communications Arts from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications-Public Relations from Fontbonne University.
“I am very excited and enthused for the opportunity to begin my journey as an administrator at Wydown Middle School,” said Daniels. “I am ready to get to work for the students and staff at Wydown, listening emphatically, fostering community and being the best advocate I can be for each and every one of my students and colleagues.”
Dr. Daniels will officially begin his work at Wydown on July 1.
