WMS Participates in Virtual Give Back Night

For the last several years Wydown students have participated in a school-wide community service project focused on providing an opportunity for the Clayton community to come together on behalf of a worthy cause.

Each year the Wydown student body selects an organization they'd like to support. In the past our Wildcats have supported Lydia'a House, Kids with Cancer and Challenger Baseball, just to name a few. This year the students selected Mission STL. Mission STL is a non profit organization that bridges the economic segregation in the St. Louis Area. Their vision is to make St. Louis a city of opportunity for everyone.

The Wydown Give Back Night (GBN) Committee, composed of students and staff, has been working to continue the tradition and create a virtual Give Back Night. Please check out the Give Back Night website.

We hope you will take some time to view the website with your children/students and pick some activities to participate in. There are several contests and activities to choose from, including Minute to Win It, Lip Reading Challenge, Wydown Trivia, Chalk Art Contest, Musical Performances, Funniest Pet Picture Competition, Food Art and several other fun activities and competitions. Your children/students may want to check out the Teacher Challenges, where students can challenge a teacher to a crazy dare or another fun activity.

Students can get their friends and family involved in this worthy cause by participating in the Walk-A-Thon and Read-A-Thon. All submissions for the contests and activities must be in by May 13. They will be shown at the Give Back Night livestream on May 21. We hope you and your children/students will pick your favorites and join Wydown in supporting Mission STL.
