Support for Families In Need

Clayton District community members stand behind table covered in canned goods

With the loss of SNAP benefits, many families may be facing additional hardship and food insecurity. The District remains committed to supporting the community by connecting families with essential resources and assistance programs.

District social workers Katie Burkard and Jen McKeown recently spoke with KMOV Channel 4 about the District’s efforts to support families in need. Watch the story and explore the links below to learn more about available resources—and how you can help.

Free and Reduced Lunch
If your family meets the guidelines for receiving free or reduced lunch and you have not yet completed the application, follow this link to view the Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application.
 

Community Resources

  • Operation Food Search: Find a local pantry, free child meal site or low-cost MetroMarket stop.
  • St. Louis Area Foodbank: Locate nearby pantries and food distribution events.
  • United Way: Dial 211 or use the link to search for community resources (food, housing, utility assistance, etc.)
  • Community Action Agency St. Louis Food Pantry: Make an appointment online for a convenient time to connect. Appointment options include Tuesday and Thursday from 9–11:45 a.m. or Wednesday from 1–4 p.m.
  • St. Vincent de Paul: Assistance is provided within local conference boundaries—use the link to find your nearest SVdP conference.
