Volunteer

Once you have reviewed the Volunteer Expectations Information, you then must complete the enrollment form.

The School District of Clayton is committed to ensuring that our schools are welcoming and safe for all students, including those with life-threatening or other serious food allergies. Please review our food allergy management plan.

Complete and submit the Volunteer Enrollment Form to any school or the District Administration Office. You only need to complete the enrollment form once if you are volunteering at multiple schools.

The School District of Clayton will request a search of the Central Registry’s Child Abuse/Neglect Criminal Records database for applicants recommended for employment or individuals working with students in the District. This background screening is processed through the Department of Health and Senior Services’ Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR).

Individuals need to register with the FCSR before the District can request the background screening. There is a one-time cost of $15.25 that you will incur to register online (or $14.00 if mailing the completed registration form to FCSR). If you have previously registered with the FCSR, you will not need to do so again. Please provide your social security number to your Human Resources Specialist or District contact so the background screening can be requested.

• Click on the tab "Is a Person Registered" and search for yourself using your social security number. If you are already in the FCSR database, please let your Human Resources Specialist know. You won’t need to register again.
• If you are not in the FCSR database, proceed with the registration by selecting "Continue".
• In the “Employer Name” search field, enter School District of Clayton and click “search”. Below “Employer Results” you should see School District of Clayton listed. Check the box next to the district name and click on “continue”.
• On the next screen, select registration type "Child Care".  
• Complete your registration and payment.  

Let your Human Resources Specialist know when your registration has been completed so a request for your background screening can be submitted.  

Fingerprint Background Check Notice for Volunteers

As part of our volunteer screening process, fingerprints are submitted to the FBI to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. This background check helps us confirm that all volunteers meet safety standards required for working in schools.

Participation in fingerprinting is voluntary, but not completing it may prevent approval of your volunteer application. Once submitted, fingerprints are securely compared against national databases and may be retained by the FBI to support future safety or security checks.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has contracted with IdentoGO to conduct Live Scan digital fingerprinting in order to expedite the background check process and allow people to begin working sooner. 

Finer Printing Instructions

1. Begin the registration process with MACHS (Missouri Automated Criminal History Site): www.machs.mo.gov.
2. Click on the blue box to Register with the Fingerprint Portal, then click on the blue box to Register with MACHS.
3. Enter the 4-digit registration code, 1870, then click “Enter”.
4. You should see the name and identifying information for the School District of Clayton.
5. Just below this you will be asked if this search is being conducted for a position as a volunteer.  Please check "Yes".  
6. Enter your personal demographic data into the spaces provided.  Mandatory fields are marked with a red *.  Once all personal information has been entered, click “Register”.  You will be asked to verify your personal data; edit if necessary.  Click “Continue Registration”.
7. Review the privacy rights then click “Complete Registration”.  You will be redirected to IdentoGO to complete your registration.
8. You will be asked to choose an option as to how you would like to complete the fingerprinting process.  Choose “Register for Digital Fingerprinting Services”.
9. Enter a zip code to determine the closest fingerprinting locations. You can choose from multiple days and locations to schedule your appointment.  Please schedule an appointment rather than going as a walk-in.
10. The next page displays your completed registration information. (A confirmation of your registration and appointment will also be sent to the email address you provided.)  You may wish to print this information to take to your fingerprinting session.  You will be required to present one form of photo identification at your fingerprinting session.  Use the link at the bottom of the completed registration page to view a list of acceptable forms of photo identification.
11. A fee of approximately $40 is due at the time of fingerprinting.
