    ROLLING ENROLLMENT COURSE

Applications for course enrollment open at the end of each semester.

Created in 2018, this course is designed for students wishing to dive into advanced broadcast production.  In this course, students are expected to work both independently and collaboratively in two primary ways:

    • Independently, students are expected to individually produce substantive, super-high quality for the Greyhound News Network's various media outlets.

    • Collaboratively, students take on a leadership role in which they will:

      • Manage student production in the Video Production course
      • Assemble produced content into air-able formats for Greyhound Exclusive Television and/or GNNYouTube
      • Assemble produced content designed to engage an audience on social media platforms
      • Film, edit, and publish the GNN Morning Announcements
      • Publish all content produced from the various classes on web-based platforms for distribution and/or archival purposes.

This course meets Thursdays from 2:15 - 3:00 pm for production meetings and after school (typically 6:00 - 9:00 pm) a few days per month prior to each broadcast of Greyhound Exclusive Television.  Extensive collaboration via Slack is expected throughout the school year.  Students in this course will work closely with the instructor, but are expected to be able to work independently without supervision.  Planning and time-management are very important traits!

    Enrollment in the course requires:

    • Submitting an application
    • Demonstrated skill and/or work-ethic in the Video Production course*
    • Instructor approval

*While the Video Production course is technically a pre-requisite, this requirement could be waived if a student submits an independtly-produced portfolio during the application process.  A reference may be requested who can attest that the student is able to work independently without supervision.
