Fifth-Graders Gain Leadership Skills at CLAYMO Retreat
Glenridge Elementary fifth-graders took part in a special school tradition on Thursday, Aug. 31, when they participated in the CLAYMO leadership retreat. Throughout the school year, the fifth-graders work in groups of three students to lead lessons in their CLAYMO groups, which are comprised of students in kindergarten through fourth grade. These lessons are designed to connect all Glenridge students with the CLAYMO Promise:
I promise to take good care of myself, all the people around me, and all the things around me.
I promise to take good care of myself, all the people around me, and all the things around me.
At the CLAYMO retreat, the fifth-graders worked in their groups to gain leadership skills while preparing for the first lesson they will be teaching. The retreat ended with a ceremony where students received their official CLAYMO leader lanyards and a special surprise – a letter of encouragement from their families.
