P.E. Curriculum Comes to Life on Fishing Expedition
Fourth-graders at Glenridge Elementary put their fishing skills to the test on May 19 during the school’s annual fourth-grade fishing field trip in Forest Park. The students took part in the fishing expedition in conjunction with the fourth-grade physical education curriculum. Students practiced their casting skills during P.E. class at Glenridge in preparation for the field trip.
The Missouri Department of Conservation stocked the three “learning lakes” in Forest Park with fish to ensure students would have a greater likelihood of being successful on their catch-and-release fishing trip. And the trip was, indeed, a success. All of the fourth-graders were able to catch at least one fish.

In addition to P.E. Teachers Steve Hutson and Nicole Miller, the Glenridge fourth-grade teachers and several parent volunteers accompanied the students on their fishing expedition.
